I'm Blue...

...no not the moronic dance song...I'm blue over hurricane Katrina. Saddened, yes, but blue from holding my breath. I'm holding my breath waiting for the foreign aid to come pouring in. The news reporters are all saying how the "world is watching"...yup, and that's about it. I'm holding my breath waiting for Hollywood celebs to hold a fund raiser. I'm holding my breath for all of those activist musicians out there to hold some huge benefit concert. Waiting...waiting...waiting...exactly, ain't happening, folks. Remember that tsunami back in December that we donated a fuck ton of money for? All the news was all over the fact that we were reaching out to a muslim country, and such. Other countries, while donating far less than the United States, still found it necessary to criticize us for not doing enough. Where are they now? The silence is deafening. I'm waiting for the first ass-hat lawsuit. I'm also waiting for the first heartless bastard to politicize this catastrophic event...oh wait, that already happened. Gee, a Kennedy...go figure...Thanks, RFK!

...but I see your point nonetheless and have been wondering much the same thing myself.

In fact, I haven't heard an outpouring of "President so-and-so of somewhere expressed his deepest sympathies to President Bush today...."
